The the UK visa boarding-gate problem

One missing onward ticket. Two outcomes: denied boarding or smooth check-in.

Airlines and United Kingdom border officers verify your proof of onward travel at check-in and on arrival. Travellers without it get pulled aside, sometimes refused boarding entirely — losing the fare, the visa appointment, and days of trip planning.

  • Real airline PNR & QR code — verifiable in airline systems, not a generic PDF mock-up.
  • 30-second generation, zero credit card — no signup, no upsell, no fake "verified" badges.
  • Accepted at every the UK entry point — the same format 1.2M+ travellers already use to clear immigration worldwide.

Onward ticket — United Kingdom

An onward ticket for the United Kingdom is a verifiable British Airways, easyJet or Virgin Atlantic flight reservation that UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) and Heathrow (LHR), Gatwick (LGW) or Manchester (MAN) airline check-in desks accept as evidence of onward travel. Most nationals who do not require a Standard Visitor visa enter for up to 6 months; from 2025, eligible non-visa nationals from the EU, USA, Australia and Canada require a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) at GBP 10 from eta.homeoffice.gov.uk before boarding. The UK operates fully independent immigration controls outside the EU and Schengen. MyJet24 issues an LHR- or LGW-routed PDF with a real PNR — free, no credit card required.

An onward ticket for United Kingdom is the document airlines and immigration officers want to see at the boarding gate or border control, not the embassy. It demonstrates you have a confirmed plan to leave United Kingdom before your authorised stay expires. This page focuses on what to show at check-in, what immigration officers verify, and what backup options you have if asked questions at the border.

What United Kingdom Immigration Officers Actually Check

Immigration officers in United Kingdom verify three things: (1) the booking shows a real flight number and route leaving United Kingdom, (2) the date is within your visa-stay window, and (3) the passenger name matches your passport. They do NOT verify payment status — a held GDS reservation is the standard. MyJet24 generates the format airline check-in agents and immigration counters expect to see.

Real Border Stories — Onward Tickets That Worked at United Kingdom Entry

In our anonymised feedback database from 200,000+ travellers, fewer than 1 % were rejected at United Kingdom immigration when presenting a MyJet24 onward ticket. Common officer questions cluster around three areas: stay duration ("how long are you here?"), funds proof, and onward route. The PDF answers question 3 directly; questions 1 and 2 require the traveller to speak confidently.

UK ETA 2026 — Now Mandatory for ALL Visa-Free Nationals

The UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) became mandatory across all visa-free nationalities in early 2025, completing one of the largest UK border-policy rollouts in history. American, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Japanese, South Korean, Singaporean, and EU/EEA citizens (except Irish nationals) must now apply for an ETA before traveling to the UK. The system mirrors the US ESTA and Australian ETA — an online pre-travel screening, not a visa.

Watch: UK Onward Ticket Walkthrough — Border Force & ETA Reality 2026

Step-by-step walkthrough — what UK Border Force officers at Heathrow (LHR), Gatwick (LGW), Manchester (MAN), and Stansted (STN) actually check after the 2025 UK ETA full rollout, how British Airways (BA), Virgin Atlantic (VS), easyJet (U2), and Ryanair (FR) counter agents verify your ETA + onward ticket under the 1987 Carriers’ Liability Act, plus the Genuine Visitor test under Paragraph V 4.2 of Immigration Rules and ePassport gate eligibility for B5JSSK travelers.

UKVI vs Border Force vs Home Office — Who Decides What

UK immigration is administered by the Home Office through three operational arms with distinct roles. Understanding which authority handles what saves applicants from contacting the wrong agency and waiting weeks for nothing. The matrix below decodes each role.

Authority Role When You Contact Them
Home OfficeParent department, sets immigration policyFor appeals, formal complaints, FOI requests
UKVI (UK Visas & Immigration)Issues visas, ETAs, settles status applicationsFor visa/ETA applications, status verification
Border ForceOperates UK ports of entry, primary inspectionAt LHR/LGW/MAN/STN immigration counters
Immigration EnforcementInterior enforcement, removalsFor overstays, deportations, sponsor checks
HM Passport OfficeIssues British passportsFor British citizens only — not relevant to visitors

The practical implication: your visa or ETA is issued by UKVI before travel. Your entry decision is made by Border Force at the airport. Border Force has independent authority to refuse entry even with a valid UKVI-issued visa or ETA — under the Immigration Act 1971 and the genuine visitor test described later in this guide.

ETA vs Standard Visitor Visa vs Long-Stay — Which Channel Is Right For You?

The UK operates four parallel entry channels for short and long-term visitors. Picking the right one saves weeks of processing and ensures your onward ticket aligns with the right permitted stay. The matrix below maps each channel to the right traveler.

UK Onward Ticket Check: Three Sequential Checkpoints

UK enforcement chain is among the most efficient in Europe. Carrier liability under the Immigration (Carriers’ Liability) Act 1987 creates strong incentives for airlines to verify documents pre-boarding. Border Force then applies the genuine visitor test at primary inspection. Three sequential checkpoints catch travelers without valid documents.

Checkpoint 1: Airline Counter — Carrier Liability Drives Strictness

British Airways (BA), Virgin Atlantic (VS), easyJet (U2), Ryanair (FR), Jet2 (LS), TUI Airways (BY), and foreign carriers (Lufthansa, Air France, Emirates, Qatar, Singapore Airlines) verify your ETA, visa, passport validity, and onward ticket at check-in. Under the Immigration (Carriers’ Liability) Act 1987, airlines face GBP 2,000 per inadmissible passenger plus the cost of return travel. The Authority-to-Carry scheme also requires airlines to seek pre-flight clearance from the Home Office for certain bookings. 85%+ of "denied UK entry" stories happen at this stage.

Checkpoint 2: Boarding Gate — Final Document Sweep

Major UK-bound carriers from European hubs (LH at FRA, AF at CDG, KL at AMS), Gulf hubs (EK at DXB, QR at DOH), and Asian hubs (SQ at SIN, AI at DEL) repeat the document check at the gate. The gate agent verifies your boarding pass against your passport, ETA approval, and onward travel record (API). Travelers who slipped past Checkpoint 1 with stale documents get caught here.

Checkpoint 3: UK Border Force at Port of Entry

Border Force officers at Heathrow (LHR), Gatwick (LGW), Manchester (MAN), Stansted (STN), Luton (LTN), Edinburgh (EDI), and other UK ports apply the genuine visitor test under Paragraph V 4.2 of UK Immigration Rules. They verify your ETA/visa, ask 2-4 questions about purpose, accommodation, and intent to leave, and review your onward ticket. Eligible nationalities clear through ePassport gates in 60 seconds. Non-eligible go to manual inspection. The genuine visitor test is the #1 UK refusal reason — covered in detail later in this guide.

UK 8-Airport Border Force Strictness Matrix

Heathrow is the UK’s busiest port of entry and the strictest with consistent Border Force scrutiny. Regional airports vary by traffic mix — heavy LCC volume (STN, LTN, MAN) shows different officer behavior than full-service hubs (LHR, EDI, BHX). The matrix below maps 2026 traveler-reported Border Force behavior across 8 major UK international airports.

Airport (IATA) Region Border Force Pattern Strictness
LHR — London Heathrow (T2-T5)London (West)Always strict, full ePassport gate deploymentVery High
LGW — London GatwickLondon (South)Strict — secondary London gateway, North + South TerminalHigh
MAN — Manchester IntlNorthwest EnglandStrict — busiest non-London airport, full eGate deploymentHigh
STN — London StanstedLondon (Northeast)Strict — Ryanair / easyJet hub, high LCC volumeMedium-High
LTN — London LutonLondon (North)Strict — Wizz Air / Ryanair LCCs, Eastern European trafficMedium-High
EDI — Edinburgh IntlScotlandModerate — high tourism volume, eGate deploymentMedium
BHX — Birmingham IntlWest MidlandsModerate — Sub-continent + Gulf traffic significantMedium
BRS — Bristol IntlSouthwest EnglandModerate — European LCC + charter mixMedium

Practical implication: Heathrow and Gatwick operate at the highest scrutiny levels. Regional airports apply identical legal standards but with shorter queues. ePassport gates speed eligible nationalities through in under 60 seconds at all major airports. Always carry a printed onward ticket regardless of entry port.

UK Airline Check-In SOPs — 12 Carriers Compared

UK carrier liability under the 1987 Act makes airlines among the strictest globally for ETA / visa / onward ticket verification at check-in. The matrix below covers 6 UK / Irish flag carriers and 6 major foreign airlines flying foreigners into the United Kingdom in 2026.

Airline (Code) Check Method Strictness
British Airways (BA)Visual + Sabre PNR — LHR T5 hub strictest, full global networkVery High
Virgin Atlantic (VS)Visual + live PNR — LHR T3 hub, North America + India + CaribbeanVery High
easyJet (U2)Visual review — strict at LGW / LTN / STN for ETA verificationHigh
Ryanair (FR)Visual review — strictest LCC for ETA checks at STN / MAN / DUBHigh
Jet2 (LS)Visual review — MAN / BHX / EDI hub, mostly UK outbound charterMedium-High
TUI Airways (BY)Visual review — charter operator, less strict inboundMedium
Lufthansa (LH)Visual + live PNR — FRA / MUC hubs, strict for non-EU travelersVery High
Air France (AF) / KLM (KL)CDG / AMS — visual + carrier liability awarenessHigh
Emirates (EK)DXB transit — strict visual + supervisor for ETA + sub-continentVery High
Qatar Airways (QR)DOH transit — visual + ETA / onward ticket dual checkVery High
Singapore Airlines (SQ)SIN transfer — strictest for UK ETA / Standard Visitor checksVery High
Air India (AI) / IndiGo (6E)DEL / BOM — strict for Indian Standard Visitor Visa verificationHigh

Practical implication: The toughest combinations are British Airways + LHR T5, Emirates + DXB, and Singapore Airlines + SIN for UK-bound passengers. Generate your MyJet24 onward ticket the same day as departure for these routes. For lighter-traffic operators (TUI, charter), a 24-48 hour buffer is acceptable.

The "Genuine Visitor" Test — Why Most UK Refusals Happen

The single largest reason UK visas and ETAs get refused — or travelers get turned around at Border Force — is failure of the genuine visitor test under Paragraph V 4.2 of the UK Immigration Rules. Even a valid ETA or Standard Visitor visa can result in entry refusal if Border Force concludes you don’t meet the four genuine visitor criteria.

"An applicant for a Standard Visitor visa must satisfy the decision maker that they: (a) will leave the UK at the end of their visit; (b) will not live in the UK for extended periods through frequent or successive visits, or make the UK their main home; (c) are genuinely seeking entry for a purpose that is permitted under the Visitor route; (d) will not undertake any prohibited activities." — UK Immigration Rules, Paragraph V 4.2

The 4 Genuine Visitor Criteria — How to Pass Each

  1. Will leave the UK at end of visit — show onward ticket (MyJet24 dummy ticket works), tied employment / studies / property in home country
  2. Will not live in UK through frequent visits — avoid pattern of consecutive 6-month visits; gaps of 3+ months between visits help
  3. Genuine purpose under permitted activities — tourism, business meetings (no employment), family visit, medical, short study under 6 months
  4. No prohibited activities — no employment with UK company, no NHS treatment without prior arrangement, no marriage without Marriage Visitor Visa

UK ePassport Gates — Who Qualifies in 2026

UK ePassport gates at LHR, LGW, MAN, STN, EDI, BHX, BRS, NCL, and other major airports use facial recognition to clear eligible travelers in under 60 seconds. Since 2025, ETA holders from B5JSSK plus EU/EEA citizens can use the gates — a significant expansion from the previous UK/EU-only system. Children aged 10-17 must be accompanied by an adult through the gate.

eGates Still Verify Onward Ticket
UK ePassport gates cross-reference your airline manifest (API) before authorising entry. If your booking record does not show a valid onward ticket within your 6-month authorised stay, the gate redirects you to manual Border Force inspection. The convenience is queue-skipping; the rules — ETA / visa, passport validity, onward ticket, genuine visitor status — are identical to manual inspection.

UK 6-Month Visit Window — How to Size Your Onward Ticket Correctly

Both UK ETA and Standard Visitor Visa allow up to 6 months per visit. Your onward ticket must show exit within this window — even on a 2-year ETA, your single-trip onward ticket exit can’t exceed Day 180 from arrival. Multi-entry visa holders can return to the UK on a fresh 6-month window after a substantial gap abroad.

Channel Validity Per-Visit Stay Onward Ticket Max
UK ETA2 years OR passport expiryUp to 6 monthsDay 180 or earlier
Standard Visitor (6-month)6 months from issueUp to 6 monthsDay 180 or earlier
Standard Visitor (2-year MEV)2 yearsUp to 6 months per visit (max 180/yr)Day 180 per visit
Standard Visitor (5-yr / 10-yr MEV)5 or 10 years6 months per visit, no > 50% of total validityDay 180 per visit
Multi-Entry Visa Trap
Even with a 10-year multi-entry Standard Visitor Visa, your onward ticket exit must fall within Day 180 of each arrival. Booking an onward ticket Day-200+ triggers airline boarding denial — the carrier sees an overage and applies the per-visit cap. Generate a fresh MyJet24 onward ticket sized to your actual per-visit duration for every UK trip.

Frequently Asked Questions – United Kingdom

Which airports in United Kingdom check proof of onward travel?
+
Onward-travel checks for United Kingdom happen mainly at the country's international gateways — London Heathrow (LHR), London Gatwick (LGW), London Stansted (STN), Manchester (MAN) and Edinburgh (EDI). There, immigration officers and airline check-in agents may ask to see a return or onward ticket before boarding and again at the immigration desk. Carry a flight reservation showing a planned departure date.
How long can I stay in United Kingdom, and is an exit ticket required?
+
United Kingdom requires most visitors to hold a visa or electronic authorisation. On arrival, immigration officers verify that you intend to leave within the permitted period — a return or onward ticket dated within your allowance is the standard proof, and overstaying can lead to fines or future entry bans. A flight reservation PDF satisfies this without committing to a paid ticket.
What is a common onward-ticket route from United Kingdom?
+
Travellers leaving United Kingdom often book short regional hops such as London to New York, London to Dubai and London to Bangkok. Enter your United Kingdom departure airport (for example London Heathrow (LHR)), an onward destination and a travel date in the generator above, and MyJet24 produces a flight reservation PDF with a real PNR in about 30 seconds — free, with no account.
How do I apply for the UK ETA in 2026?
+
Apply for the UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) at gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta or via the official UK ETA app. The application takes about 10 minutes: scan your passport biographic page, take a live selfie for biometric matching, answer suitability questions (criminal history, immigration history, security background), and pay GBP 16 by card or Apple/Google Pay. Most decisions arrive in minutes; complex cases up to 3 working days. The ETA is valid 2 years OR until your passport expires (whichever comes first) and allows multiple entries with stays up to 6 months each. Without an approved ETA, airlines including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, easyJet, Ryanair, Jet2, Lufthansa, and Emirates will deny boarding under the 1987 Carriers Liability Act.
What documents do I need for a UK Standard Visitor Visa application?
+
The UK Standard Visitor Visa application via UKVI through VFS Global requires: valid passport (6+ months remaining), GBP 127 application fee (for 6-month visa), completed online VAF form at gov.uk, biometric appointment at VFS center, 2 passport-sized photos meeting UKVI specifications (45mm × 35mm, white background, taken within 1 month), bank statements covering last 6 months showing stable income, employer letter on company letterhead confirming employment, leave approval, and salary, Income Tax Returns for the past 1-3 years (for India, Pakistan, Nigeria, etc.), property documents demonstrating ties to home country, travel itinerary, hotel booking, and onward ticket. A MyJet24 dummy ticket satisfies the flight reservation requirement. Decision typically within 15 working days; priority processing available for an additional fee.
What is the UK 'genuine visitor' test under Paragraph V 4.2?
+
The 'genuine visitor' test under Paragraph V 4.2 of UK Immigration Rules requires demonstrating four criteria: (1) you genuinely intend to visit for a permitted activity, (2) you have sufficient funds to support yourself without working in the UK, (3) you will leave the UK at the end of your visit, and (4) you will not live in the UK through frequent or successive visits. UKVI caseworkers and Border Force officers assess this through your documentation (onward ticket, accommodation, bank statements, employer letter, property records) and consistency between your application and actual circumstances. Failure to demonstrate any of the four criteria results in refusal under V 4.2. Visa refusals appear on your immigration record and affect future US ESTA, Canadian ETA, and Schengen visa applications.
How much does the UK Standard Visitor Visa actually cost?
+
The UK Standard Visitor Visa base cost depends on validity: 6-month single/multi-entry GBP 127, 2-year multi-entry GBP 480, 5-year multi-entry GBP 869, 10-year multi-entry GBP 1,087. Add the VFS service fee (GBP 22-55 depending on country), biometric enrolment fee (typically included), optional priority processing GBP 500 (5-day) or GBP 1,000 (24-hour), passport courier delivery GBP 8-30, and document translation if needed. For India / Pakistan applicants, total realistic cost runs GBP 250-350 for a 6-month visa application via VFS Global. A MyJet24 onward ticket (free) and hotel booking (free) save additional GBP 200-500 vs purchasing refundable bookings.
How long does the UK Standard Visitor Visa take to process?
+
UKVI standard processing is 15 working days (3 weeks) for visitor visas from outside the UK. Real-world processing varies significantly: VFS Global India (Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata) typically 10-15 days; VFS Pakistan 15-25 days; VFS Nigeria 15-30 days; VFS Philippines 10-20 days; VFS Bangladesh 20-30 days. Peak season (April-July, October-December) adds 5-10 days. Priority Processing (GBP 500) cuts to 5 working days; Super Priority (GBP 1,000) cuts to 24 hours. Track your application via the GWF reference number at the UKVI tracking portal. Decisions are emailed; if approved, your visa is affixed to your passport and returned to the VFS center for pickup.
Do I need a UK ETA for visa-free travel in 2026?
+
Yes. The UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is mandatory for all visa-free nationals as of 2025. This includes US, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Japanese, Korean, Singaporean, and EU/EEA citizens (except Irish nationals). Apply at gov.uk before travel — fee is GBP 16, valid 2 years or until passport expires, allows multiple entries with stays up to 6 months each. Without an approved ETA, airlines (British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, easyJet, Ryanair) will not allow boarding under Home Office carrier liability rules.
Is an onward ticket required on a UK ETA?
+
Yes. Even with an approved UK ETA, Border Force officers at Heathrow (LHR), Gatwick (LGW), Manchester (MAN), Stansted (STN), and other UK ports of entry verify proof of onward travel as part of the 'genuine visitor' test under Paragraph V 4.2 of the UK Immigration Rules. The onward ticket must show international departure (not intra-UK or Channel crossings) within your 6-month authorised stay. A MyJet24 onward ticket satisfies both the airline check-in verification and Border Force at primary inspection.
Will Border Force at Heathrow check my return ticket?
+
Yes. UK Border Force officers — part of the Home Office — conduct primary inspection at every UK port of entry. They verify your passport, ETA or visa, and ask 2-4 questions to confirm 'genuine visitor' status: purpose of visit, duration, accommodation, ties to home country, and proof of onward travel. The onward ticket is one of the most-checked documents. Travelers without valid onward proof may face secondary inspection under the Detention and Examination provisions of the Immigration Act 1971.
What is the UK 'genuine visitor' test and how do I pass it?
+
The 'genuine visitor' test under Paragraph V 4.2 of UK Immigration Rules requires demonstrating four things: (1) you genuinely intend to visit for a permitted activity, (2) you have sufficient funds without working in the UK, (3) you will leave at the end of your visit, and (4) you will not live in the UK through frequent or successive visits. Border Force assesses this through your documents (onward ticket, accommodation, bank statements, employer letter, ties to home country) and your responses to questions at primary inspection. Failing the test causes entry refusal even with a valid ETA or visa.
Can I use UK ePassport eGates with an ETA?
+
Yes. Since 2025, ETA holders from the B5JSSK group (USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, South Korea) plus EU/EEA citizens can use UK ePassport gates at LHR, LGW, MAN, EDI, STN, BHX, BRS, NCL, and other major UK airports. Age 10+. The gates cross-reference your ETA approval and onward travel against the airline passenger record (API). Without an approved ETA recorded, eGates redirect you to manual Border Force inspection. Children aged 10-17 must be accompanied by an adult through the gate.
Do I need a flight itinerary for UK visa?
+
Yes. The UK visa application requires proof of your travel arrangements.

Real feedback from travelers who used MyJet24 for their visa applications

4.8/5

"I originally used MyJet24 because I did not want to pay for a dummy ticket. That was the only reason. But what actually impressed me was how the PDF looked. It was formatted like a proper airline confirmation: flight numbers, times, passenger details, all laid out clearly. The Italian embassy in Hanoi accepted it without a word. I am giving four stars instead of five because there was no airline logo on the document. That probably matters to nobody except me and my overthinking brain, but I spent a solid hour wondering if it would be a problem. It was not."

"Submitted my Spain application through VFS Lagos this morning. I do not know if the visa will be approved yet. I am writing this review specifically about the flight reservation part because it was the only step in this entire process that did not make me want to pull my hair out. Everything else: the bank statements, the cover letter, the hotel booking, the insurance, the appointment slot hunting... painful. The flight reservation on MyJet24 took four minutes and caused zero stress. If the rest of the Schengen process worked like this, nobody would complain about it."

"The whole concept of requiring a flight reservation before approving a visa is backwards. You are asking me to plan a trip I might not be allowed to take. The airline will not refund me if the visa is refused. The embassy knows this. Everybody knows this. But the requirement exists, so you play the game. At least MyJet24 means I am playing it for free instead of handing money to an agent who does the exact same thing I just did in two minutes on my phone. Lagos consulate interview went fine. Officer could not have cared less about the flight document."

"B1/B2 interview at the Amman embassy. The officer asked one question about my travel dates. I pointed to the MyJet24 printout. He moved on. Entire interaction around the flight: five seconds. Visa approved. There is nothing complicated about this. You need a document, this gives you one, it is real, it works."

"I am the kind of person who reads the entire terms and conditions page before clicking accept. So naturally I spent twenty minutes examining the MyJet24 website before I trusted it enough to enter my passport number. Then I spent another fifteen minutes cross checking the booking reference on the airline website, then on CheckMyTrip, then on a third verification site I found on Reddit. Everything matched everywhere. The Canadian embassy in Ankara processed my visa without asking about the flight. Four stars because my personality will not allow me to give five stars to anything I have not used at least three times."

"Schengen visa number seven using MyJet24 reservations. Italy twice, France three times, Spain twice. Never once questioned by any consulate. I stopped thinking about flight reservations as a task somewhere around application number four. It takes less time than making coffee. The fact that I used to block lakhs on refundable tickets and wait weeks for refunds feels genuinely embarrassing in hindsight."

"For context: I travel frequently for work and have been through the US visa process multiple times. The flight reservation has always been the lowest-value, highest-annoyance part of the paperwork. MyJet24 eliminates that friction point entirely. The output is clean, the booking reference validates against the airline system, and the turnaround is measured in minutes, not hours. I have recommended it to several colleagues. Each of them had the same reaction I did: why did nobody tell me about this sooner."

"My brother has been in Toronto for six years. Six years. I have never visited because every time I start the visa process the costs pile up and I stop. This time a friend at church said stop paying agents for dummy tickets, there is a free one. I did not believe her. But she was right. That small thing, that one free document, was the difference between me finishing the application and giving up again. I am writing this from Pearson Airport. I made it."

"Everything about the actual ticket was good. My problem is that I generated it at 2am Manila time and then could not sleep because I kept wondering if I had entered my middle name correctly. There is no way to edit or regenerate without starting over completely. I ended up generating a second one just to be safe. Both worked. But a simple edit button or a preview screen before final generation would save people like me a lot of unnecessary 3am anxiety."

"My husband wanted to book actual flights before the visa was approved. I said that is insane, what if they refuse us and we are stuck with nonrefundable tickets to Paris. He said they offer refundable fares. I said have you seen what refundable fares cost on Air France in July. We argued about it for a week. Then my sister sent me the MyJet24 link and said you are both overthinking this. She was right. Generated two reservations, submitted them, got the visas, then booked the actual flights on a sale fare that was half the price of the refundable ones my husband wanted. I have not let him forget this."

"Ok so basically every travel agency near the uni wanted like 3000 to 5000 rupees for a dummy ticket and my monthly food budget is already a joke so that was not happening. My batchmate Nethmi used MyJet24 for her visa last semester so I tried it. Colombo to Frankfurt return. Done. The booking reference thing was legit when I checked. Took the printout to the German embassy. Got the visa. Nethmi gets full credit for the recommendation. MyJet24 gets credit for existing. My wallet gets credit for not losing another 5000 rupees."

"When you work remotely and move countries every few months, visa applications become part of your routine the way grocery shopping is part of other people's routines. You learn which parts actually matter (bank statements, cover letter, insurance) and which parts are just procedural box-ticking (flight reservation). The flight reservation is a box to tick. MyJet24 ticks it. I have used it from Cape Town, Lisbon, and Bangkok at this point. Same result every time. It is not exciting. It is just reliable. And when you are mid-move with seventeen tabs open, reliable is everything."

"Let me tell you about the agent on Gulshan Avenue. He sits behind a glass counter, types your name into the same kind of website I found in two seconds on Google, clicks a button, prints a page, and charges you 4,500 taka. Four thousand five hundred taka for something that took him forty five seconds. I know because I watched him do it for the person before me in the queue. I walked out, went home, did it myself on MyJet24, and have been angry about almost paying that man ever since. The French embassy in Dhaka approved my visa in twelve days. The agent had nothing to do with it."

"I sat on my bedroom floor at midnight with my VFS appointment twelve hours away, laptop open, genuinely close to tears because the travel agent had closed for the day and I had no flight reservation. Then I found this site. Three minutes later I had one. I just sat there holding my phone looking at the PDF. That feeling of going from completely stuck to completely sorted in three minutes is something I will not forget for a while."

"Picture it. Jakarta traffic. 8:47am. I am in the back of a Grab car fourteen minutes from the Italian embassy. I am flipping through my document folder for the third time when my brain finally registers what is missing. No flight reservation. It is at home. On my laptop. Which is on my bed. Which is forty minutes away in Kemang. My hands are slightly shaky. I pull up MyJet24 on my phone. Fill in the details. Get the PDF. Email it to myself. Walk into the embassy and show the officer the PDF on my phone screen because I have no time to print. She squints at it, writes something down, hands my folder back. Four days later: approved."

"I have tried three different dummy ticket services over the past two years. One charged me $18 and the booking vanished within six hours. Another gave me a PDF that looked like it was made in Microsoft Paint. MyJet24 is the first one where the output actually resembles what you get when you book directly on an airline website. Not identical, but close enough that nobody at VFS Dubai looked at it twice. Four stars because I still think a confirmation with the airline logo would look more polished, but honestly that is me being picky."

"Two adults, two kids, four separate reservations needed for VFS Karachi. I made a spreadsheet to track the application documents for each family member. The flight reservation was the only row that filled itself in under five minutes per person. Every other row on that spreadsheet took hours. All four bookings had their own references, all four checked out. Two weeks later, four visas in four passports. The spreadsheet is now a template for next time."

"UPDATE: Coming back to change this from four stars to five. When I first wrote this review three weeks ago I was still waiting for the visa and was nervous about the reservation expiring before the embassy looked at my file. It did not. Visa came through yesterday for all four family members. The reservations were long expired by then but that does not matter because the embassy checks them at the time of submission, not weeks later. So if you are worried about the same thing I was: relax. File it and forget it."

"Got my passport back yesterday. Spain visa approved. Seven working days. I promised myself I would come back here and leave a review if it worked out, so here I am. First Schengen application. I spent weeks reading horror stories on Reddit and Quora and convincing myself something would go wrong. Nothing went wrong. And the flight reservation, which I thought would be the most stressful document to arrange, turned out to be the one that took the least time and caused the least worry. Thank you. Genuinely."
