It is free, it is filed online, and no QR code means a problem at the counter that no amount of onward evidence fixes. The 72-hour window means it cannot be done a fortnight ahead with the rest of your admin.
Does eTravel ask about my departure?
It asks for your trip details, and the officer at the counter sees what you filed. The dates on the registration and the dates on your booking should describe the same visit — a 30-day visa-free entry with a registration saying six weeks is a contradiction you will be asked to explain in person.
How long is visa-free entry, really?
Thirty days for tourism or business. That is shorter than Thailand's exemption even after its September 2026 cut, and much shorter than Vietnam's 45. It can be extended once you are in the country, but the extension is an application at the Bureau of Immigration, not something you assume — and your booking should show a date inside 30 days unless you have already decided to extend.
What passport validity is needed?
Six months beyond your arrival date. The Philippines does not add a blank-page requirement of the kind India and Indonesia apply, so the six months is the binding condition — and it is checked both by the airline at check-in and at the counter.
What has to be on the reservation?
Your name as the passport prints it, a dated departure out of the Philippines, the operating carrier, and a reference that resolves when an agent types it. On this route the fourth item carries more weight than anywhere else in the region, because the check happens at a desk with a terminal rather than at a border with a stamp.
Which airport should the booking route through?
Manila (MNL) for most international traffic, Cebu (CEB) for the Visayas, Clark for the low-cost carriers north of Manila, Davao (DVO) for Mindanao and Kalibo (KLO) for Boracay. Cebu and Kalibo see a lot of open-ended arrivals, which is exactly the profile that draws questions.
Free or Premium for the Philippines?
If there is one destination where the difference earns its keep, it is this one. The check that matters happens at the departure gate abroad, the agent has a terminal in front of them, and a reference that comes back clean ends the conversation. A screenshot does not, because there is nothing to type.
My plans are open-ended. Does a held booking still work?
Yes, provided you present it as what it is. Open-ended plans are precisely why held bookings exist, and nobody asks for proof of payment. What would cross the line is editing the PDF, inventing a reference, or describing it as a purchased ticket — a false statement to a Philippine immigration officer stands on its own account.

"Everything about the actual ticket was good. My problem is that I generated it at 2am Manila time and then could not sleep because I kept wondering if I had entered my middle name correctly. There is no way to edit or regenerate without starting over completely. I ended up generating a second one just to be safe. Both worked. But a simple edit button or a preview screen before final generation would save people like me a lot of unnecessary 3am anxiety."

"I have tried three different dummy ticket services over the past two years. One charged me $18 and the booking vanished within six hours. Another gave me a PDF that looked like it was made in Microsoft Paint. MyJet24 is the first one where the output actually resembles what you get when you book directly on an airline website. Not identical, but close enough that nobody at VFS Dubai looked at it twice. Four stars because I still think a confirmation with the airline logo would look more polished, but honestly that is me being picky."
