The salary floor is no longer TSMIT but the Core Skills Income Threshold (CSIT): AUD 79,423 for nominations lodged from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027 (Specialist Skills: AUD 146,576). TSMIT survives only for the regional subclasses 494 and 187.

None of them. Australia has no consular jurisdiction for visitor visas: you lodge in ImmiAccount from wherever you are, attach the documents there, and a Home Affairs processing officer decides. Does my Australian visa go into my passport as a sticker?
No. Australian visas have been label-free since 2015. The grant is electronic and tied to the passport number you applied with, and airlines and employers read it through VEVO, the Visa Entitlement Verification Online service. That has a practical consequence for the itinerary: the passenger name and passport on the reservation have to match the passport the visa is attached to, or the check-in agent cannot line the two up.
How long is an Australia dummy ticket valid for?
The reservation carries the dates you enter. For a subclass 600 they have to sit inside the stay you are asking for and match what the rest of the file says; for an ETA or eVisitor holder they have to sit inside the three months per entry the grant allows. Do I need to fill in the Australian Travel Declaration as well?
The digital arrival declaration replaces the yellow paper card and is completed shortly before you fly, not with the visa application. It is a separate step from the itinerary and does not substitute for it: the reservation is what the visa file wants, the declaration is what the border wants, and neither one covers the other.
What is the difference between a free and a premium dummy ticket for Australia?

Both grants normally run for 12 months from the date of the decision and let you come and go as often as you like within that year, but each single visit is capped at three months. A subclass 600 can be granted for 3, 6 or 12 months per entry, which is why the reservation dates and the visa you hold have to be read together.
What does Home Affairs mean by a genuine visitor?
That you intend a temporary stay and will leave at the end of it. The officer looks for the shape of a life you are returning to — employment, study, family, property — and for a trip that makes sense on its own terms. A one-way itinerary, an open-ended plan or a stay that swallows most of the visa period all read against that, which is why the return leg on the reservation matters beyond the paperwork.
How much money should I show for an Australian visitor visa?
Australia publishes no fixed figure, unlike the Schengen states. The test is whether you can support yourself for the stay you are asking for without working, so the evidence is read against your own itinerary: bank statements covering several months, and enough to cover flights, accommodation and daily costs for the period you propose. A sponsor in Australia can supply the funds instead, with their own evidence.
How long does a subclass 600 decision take?
Processing times are published per stream and move with demand, so the honest answer is to check the Home Affairs processing-time tool before you book anything. Do I have to do a health examination for an Australian visitor visa?
Sometimes. Home Affairs asks for one based on how long you intend to stay, where you have lived in the last five years, and what you plan to do while you are there — visiting a hospital or a childcare setting raises it, as does a stay over six months. If it is required you will be told after lodgement and referred to a panel physician; you cannot arrange it in advance and have it count.

In some countries, yes. Home Affairs requires fingerprints and a photograph from applicants in a defined list of locations, collected at an Australian Biometrics Collection Centre after you lodge. No work, and study for no more than three months. A visitor visa carries a work prohibition, and breaching it puts the visa at risk of cancellation rather than earning a warning. What happens if Home Affairs refuses my Australian visa?
You are sent a decision letter that names the criterion you did not meet, and that letter also tells you whether a review right exists and by when. From offshore, most visitor refusals carry no review right, and the realistic path is a fresh application that answers the reason given. From onshore, the Administrative Review Tribunal is the route, and the letter states the deadline that applies to you.
Do my children need their own Australian visas?
Yes. Australia issues no family visas for visitors — every traveller including an infant needs a visa in their own name, tied to their own passport.
